A woman from Hortonville, Wisconsin, was killed yesterday evening when a truck towing farm equipment crashed into her vehicle. She was 87.
According to police, the car accident occurred on State 76 sometime Wednesday evening. The accident victim was riding as a passenger in the front seat of a car when an oncoming pickup truck drove over the road’s centerline. The two cars collided head-on. Members of the Wisconsin State Patrol say they are not sure what caused the 49-year-old man to drive out of his lane.
Police said the man had been towing farming machinery when the accident occurred, however, they say it did not seem to have caused the collision.
The 62-year-old driver of the car that was hit was taken to a hospital but was released shortly after. Police did not say if the driver of the pickup truck was injured.
The pickup truck driver was cited for violations relating to the machinery he was transporting, but no charges have been filed at this time for the crash. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
