Wisconsin Roundup non-Hodgkin lymphoma Cases

by | Mar 28, 2017 | Roundup |

Around the country including Wisconsin Roundup cancer cases are drawing the attention of the legal and medical communities. McCormick Law Office has teamed up with a nationally recognized legal leader in Monsanto litigation to investigate legal claims for persons diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma as a result of exposure to Roundup and recover damages for the injured and survivors.

The the key ingredient in Monsanto’s weed-killing product Roundup is chemical glyphosate, which has been marketed to the public since the 1970s. Glyphosate works by being absorbed into through the leaves and spread to the growing points in broad leaf foliage. While glyphosate and commercial uses such as Roundup have been approved by environmental regulatory agencies worldwide, concerns about their possible cancer causing results on humans remain.

Recently, a document purportedly authored by former longtime EPA toxicologist cites evidence from animal studies and writes: “It is essentially certain that glyphosate causes cancer.” The document raises into question the authorship of the EPA studies on Roundup and their findings or efficacy.

It has been postulated that glyphosate causes:

Endocrine disruption

Free radical formation and inhibition of free radical-scavenging enzymes

Genotoxicity — which is key in cancer onset

Inhibition of certain DNA repairing enzymes

Inhibiting the absorption of essential nutrients

Renal and pancreatic damage that may lead to cancer

Destruction of gut bacteria and suppression of the immune system

The document argues that one of these mechanisms alone listed can cause tumors, but glyphosate causes all of them simultaneously. It is essentially certain that glyphosate causes cancer. With all of the evidence listed above, the CARC category should be changed to ‘probable human carcinogen.

The document raises questions concerning her fellow EPA scientist, as well contacts with a Monsanto scientist, regarding whether glyphosate should or should not be classified as carcinogenic.

Questions concerning the etiology of cancer persist in all areas of medicine, but there are certain known causative factors attributable to exposure in the environment. If glyphosate and Roundup are determined to be so related and if Monsanto knew of such a relationship, then legal responsibility can be made for medical bills, loss of earing capacity, pain, suffering and disability. It takes expert medical and scientific opinions to establish the necessary causation between glyphosate and non-Hodgkin lymphoma as a result of exposure to Roundup.

There is no charge to contact our firm for a free consultation. If your case is accepted, there are no out of pocket costs or legal fees unless we and our co-counsel are successful in the case. Then the legal fee and costs are paid to us out of the settlement just like in a motor vehicle or car accident case.
