2 killed, 1 injured in crash due to missed stop sign

| Sep 12, 2020 | Automobile Accident |

If you’re approaching an intersection, it’s vital that you yield or stop, depending on the signage. If you see a stop sign, then you should come to a complete stop every time. Not doing so could lead to a crash with another vehicle, and you or others could be harmed or killed. Stop signs, red lights, yellow lights and yield signs should always be obeyed, especially if you can’t see the roadways clearly.

It’s tragic whenever someone is injured or killed in a crash. Take for example this investigation into a two-car crash that left two people dead. It’s believed that the driver of the vehicle in which the two victims were riding failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, they collided with another vehicle.

The 23-year-old and 22-year-old passengers were pronounced dead at the scene at around 8:20 p.m. The driver was arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department. Investigators are delving into the incident to determine the cause of the crash.

The occupants in the other vehicle remained at the scene and are reportedly working with police. Initially, the police reported that at least three people were injured, including the two who passed away. It’s believed that the driver missed the stop sign due to hearing gunshots, but no gun-related injuries occurred.

This kind of collision is upsetting, because simply following the rules of the road would have prevented two people from dying and at least one other from getting hurt. Victims in situations like this may be able to pursue a claim against an at-fault driver, so that they can seek compensation for the financial impact of the collision.
